Dear friends,

I hope you all had a pleasant April Fool's day.
My apologies for not making my joke post a little more ridiculous so as to give it away easier, but you have to understand - from my standpoint, the reactions were good :)

Budapest is calm. Yes, there are elections on April 11th and yes, there are some political actions happening because of them, but definitely less than the average American sees every fourth October.
Yes, there was a Nobel Prize winner that actually said that about Hungarians. I think he is/was Hungarian as well. It's one of the most popular quotes for ex-pats here to quote.

Yes, a lot of the lights in the city were turned off and yes, there were drummers and dancers in the castle. Actually, they were all part of the same group and it was in conjunction with Earth Hour 2010. For one hour, the lights went off and people danced in the dark at the castle. It was great fun and raised awareness for the growing need to be respectful of our temporary home: Earth.

The pictures were from an underground labyrinth we discovered when Katharine was here. The video was a real video of the Earth Hour celebrations.

telegraph machine? aliens eating my face? chasing out only Richters?... i mean... do i really need to explain these silly clues that should have triggered "this doesn't sound right" thoughts.

the itinerary was your basic itinerary pulled off of Kayak.com
and if there was really an issue happening, do you REALLY think the other 4 would stay behind?

thank you for all who got it :)
thank you to those who inspired :)
thank you for all who fell for it - my roommate, Silke, and I laughed at you. and we're still laughing at you :)

love, Trazy

The Budapest Opera House.
Did you know that you can watch things in here for like $2 a ticket? seriously! okay, our seats were a little more expensive because the cheap seats were sold out, but Silvia and I have tickets to watch "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs" Ballet for about $2 each. CRAZY

Jeff and Katharine and I experienced the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir performing pieces from the opera of "Dózsa György," which was written after a very historical figure (extremely culturally relevant!). This trip to the opera was not only dream worthy, but also educational! Score!
